He is the first expat to be brought to work for Pepsico India, so he’s been given a penthouse apartment in one of Gurgaon’s most desirable complexes. He has a driver, a maid and a cook, but so far, he’s found these relationships challenging, "There’s quite a bit of hiring and firing".

Playing in the orchard Arslanbob, Kygyzstan. Yildizai climbs a walnut tree. She is one of a large community of Uzbek people living on the western border of Kyrgyzstan. When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, a series of new countries were established, their borders drawn up almost arbitrarily. This photograph was taken a week before the Uzbek minority were targeted by local Kyrgyz population, in a speight of violence that followed the fall of president Kurmanbek Bakiyev in April 2010.

Akim 5.40 am Kochkor, Kyrgyzstan. A shepherd rises early to take let his sheep out of their pen. He tells us how much he enjoys his working routine. We ask what he thinks of his country’s revolution, that took place only weeks ago. He pauses, continuing that, it doesn’t really affect him up here.

Tourists Hampi, India. As the Indian economy prospers, tourism within India has become more popular, particularly among emerging middle class. Here, a group of men from the South of the country come to visit the 14th century Vitthala Temple complex.

In between jumps Lake Orhid, Macedonia. Lake Orhid is one of Europe's deepest and oldest lakes, preserving a unique aquatic ecosystem with more than 200 endemic species. It became a World Heritage site in 1979, which continues to be a great source of local pride.

After the catch Kokaral Dyke, Kazakhstan. Three fishermen take a break from their nets at the newly built dam which is helping to rejuvenate the Aral Sea. The dam, built with international money, acts as a funnel for the fish, attracting men from the surrounding villages who camp there for the summer.

Li Ning Beijing, China. Li Ning is one of a group of blind radio journalists who run a station in Beijing called One Sound One World. In a country where the media is heavily controlled by the state, they have developed a strong, independent voice that represents the concerns of disabled people and other marginalized groups.
